In 2025, as the MTA finalized its transition to OMNY and began decommissioning the MetroCard system, thousands of unused and lightly-used cards were headed straight for industrial shredders. NYC Holick was founded to intervene.
We worked with authorized partners to secure verified decommissioned stock , including the very last cards ever printed, bearing 2026 expiration dates they would never get to use. Today, those cards live in our archive, ready to be framed, gifted, and remembered.
